Overview

Our client is an independent insurance broker with the capability to deliver like a national one. They are an award-winning business with a strong market reputation for excellence across client care, staff development, insurer relationships, and community impact. Independence is central to their identity. Unlike many independent brokers, this is not a business that can or will ever be sold to a consolidator. Their long-term strategy is clear, and their independence secured—it is one of the reasons people choose to build careers there.

Most Account Executive roles talk about building a book, this one starts with one! We are looking for an experienced Motor Trade Account Executive to inherit and develop a significant, well-established portfolio following the planned retirement of a highly respected Account Director. This is a rare opportunity to take over long-standing relationships built over many years with motor trade clients who value expertise, advice, and service. You will inherit a strong portfolio from day one while being supported to develop and grow it further over time.

The Role

  • Taking over the management and development of a significant motor trade portfolio from a retiring Account Director.
  • Building strong long-term relationships with established clients across the motor trade sector.
  • Leading renewal strategy, client advisory, and programme development.
  • Working closely with broking teams to negotiate competitive and appropriate cover with insurers.
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen programmes, improve cover, and deepen client relationships.
  • Supporting organic growth across the existing portfolio.
  • Working with internal teams to ensure consistently high service standards for clients.
  • Representing the business in the local market and strengthening relationships with key insurers and introducers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
