Account Executive/Business Development Executive – Manchester
£35,000 basic + £55,000 OTE (Uncapped) + £5,400 Car Allowance
I'm working with a global consultancy that's coming off its strongest year to date and continuing to invest heavily in its Manchester sales team. They've been recognised as a great place to work for three consecutive years, operate across 17 countries and have a strong track record of promoting from within. They're now hiring multiple Business Development Executives to own the full sales cycle, from building their own pipeline through to running meetings and closing business, with a clear route into BDM and a £47k basic within 12–18 months for high performers.
The role will involve:
- Generating new business through proactive outbound prospecting and cold calling
- Building and managing your own pipeline
- Identifying and engaging businesses across a broad range of industries
- Running virtual and face-to-face client meetings
- Speaking with senior and C-suite decision-makers
- Understanding a client's business and identifying relevant commercial opportunities
- Managing opportunities through the full sales cycle
- Negotiating and closing your own business
- Working closely with the consulting team following the sale to ensure a smooth client handover

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
