Account Executive
In just over a year, we've gone from 0 to 700 customers with very little marketing spend and just one salesperson, succeeding where many have tried and failed before. We're now on the hunt for someone truly brilliant to join our growing commercial team, help us deal with a flood of inbound requests, and build out a professional sales motion for the next phase of our growth. Quick background on Spruce Almost 20% of the UK's carbon emissions comes from heating homes β there's simply no way to reach net zero without phasing out gas and oil boilers. Right now the only serious alternative is heat pumps, with their almost-magical ability to turn 1 kW of electricity into 3-5 kW of heat (π€―). But there's a problem: the heat pump installation journey is slow, inefficient, and just so painful. This makes it really hard for existing installers to grow their businesses and puts off gas engineers from starting to do heat pumps. Perhaps most critically, it means you can't currently offer a heat pump when someone's boiler breaks and they urgently need heating. We're fixing this. We've built a platform for heat pump installers to manage the whole installation journey from initial enquiry through to final compliance paperwork, freeing up their time to focus on what really matters: doing high-quality installations, providing great customer service, and scaling their business. Despite only getting started at the beginning of 2024, we're having a massive impact on installation businesses, suppliers, and manufacturers across the UK: halving the time they spend on each job, doubling their sales conversion rates, and boosting their bottom line. Having raised a substantial Seed round last year and with strong customer demand, we're scaling the team to massively grow our impact. We're now starting to expand beyond heat pumps and ultimately want to build an operating system for the whole home renewables supply chain. The Role You'll be working closely with Ashley, Jo, Hector and Josh to accelerate Spruce's already very rapid growth. You'll have direct input into company strategy while seeing the immediate impact of your work in both our growth metrics and the acceleration of the UK's heat pump adoption. Your work will include: Lead the full sales cycle β From handling qualified inbound demo requests to chasing prospects and closing deals with installers of all sizes. You'll be the driving force converting interest into revenue. Build our sales engine β Help design, implement, and continuously refine our sales processes from the ground up. This isn't about following an existing playbook β it's about creating something exceptional for this specific space. Pursue enterprise opportunities β Work directly with our founder, Jo, to land transformative deals with manufacturers, suppliers, and energy companies that can exponentially scale our impact. Implement cutting-edge systems β Identify, champion, and deploy whatever tools and technologies will supercharge you/our sales function, including leveraging LLMs to create unprecedented efficiency. Requirements You'll have somewhere between 1 and 4 years sales experience and you'll ideally be: A proven self-starter β You have a track record of taking initiative and making things happen without being told what to do (and we'd love to hear specific examples from throughout your life); you naturally take responsibility for things and are always pushing to make things around you better. Highly driven β You have a hunger to succeed and aren't afraid to put in the graft to achieve your goals. A natural "people person" β You build trust through authenticity rather than pushy sales tactics and instantly develop strong relationships with your prospects (and our team around you!). Logically & emotionally intelligent β You excel both with analytical/numerical reasoning and have outstanding interpersonal intelligence that helps you build genuine connections. A clear and concise communicator β you can explain complex concepts clearly and simply and you take pride in the quality of your written communication and have a keen eye for detail. β¦and you'll hopefully also love heat pumps! π€ Benefits π° Base salary Β£40β60k, plus 100% on-target bonus paid monthly (Β£80kβΒ£120k OTE) π° Slice of equity (options) in the company ποΈ 33 days holiday and opportunity to work from abroad for another 30 days each year π‘ Hybrid working: 3 days a week in-person in London, with full-team meetups every fortnight (with the Bristol folk) π§ Workplace Nursery Benefit scheme (YellowNest) π² Cycle to Work scheme π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Brilliant team to learn from and massive opportunity to grow π Meaningful, impactful work that genuinely improves the world. Working at Spruce We're currently a close-knit team split between London and Bristol. We spend 2-4 days each week working together in-person in both locations, and get everyone altogether every fortnight. You'll have genuine influence from day one. The best idea wins regardless of seniority. We expect you to challenge everything, ask "why?" multiple levels deep, and push back when something doesn't make sense. We want everyone to spend time with installers on-site, feel their pain points, then be able to rapidly suggest and implement solutions based on real feedback rather than assumptions. We move fast and ship imperfect things, learning from users rather than trying to perfect in isolation. When things break, we focus on how we fix it, what can we learn and never blame. You'll own your outcomes whilst knowing the team has your back. Feedback is constant, direct, and kind β we'll tell you when something isn't working and expect the same honesty (and empathy) back.

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
