I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Account Executive Role
As the Account Executive, you’ll take ownership of opportunities across independent UK lettings and estate agencies, managing the journey from initial conversations and product demonstrations through to signed, paying customers.
You’ll work a targeted list of prospective agencies, making calls alongside running live product demonstrations, handling objections, building commercial ROI cases and closing deals. You’ll have ownership of smaller independent agencies, typically those operating up to around six branches.
During your first few months, the position will be approximately 60% sales and 40% customer onboarding. You’ll personally support your first customers from signature through to going live and billing, giving you direct exposure to how customers use the technology and what ultimately drives retention.
You’ll also feed what you learn back into the wider sales playbook, helping develop scripts, objection handling, pricing logic and a repeatable sales process as the team scales.
