Mid-Market Account Executive
Location: Hybrid – Tower 42, City of London
Base Salary: £50,000 (£90k OTE)
Commission: Uncapped
Quota: £400,000 annual new revenue
Market: Companies with up to 1,000 employees
Reports to: Founders
The Opportunity
Off the back of over $10m in funding, RocketPhone.ai is expanding.
We’ve moved into new offices in Tower 42 in the City of London and are assembling a larger Mid-Market team with a clear objective: accelerate our Mid-Market revenue in 2027.
We’re looking for a Mid-Market Account Executive who wants to be part of building that engine.
You’ll report directly to the founders, work alongside a dedicated BDR and be supported by our GTM function, which is operationalising outbound at scale to create a consistent flow of target accounts and opportunities.
But we’re not looking for an AE who waits for meetings to appear in their calendar.
You’ll be expected to prospect, build relationships, create opportunities and close business yourself.
Your commission is uncapped. The more revenue you create and close, the more you earn.
What You’ll Sell
Your primary focus will be RocketCell — our mobile solution that brings business mobile conversations into Salesforce.
RocketCell gives us a strong initial use case to get into an organisation, but RocketPhone is a broader communications and conversation intelligence platform.
As you develop accounts, you’ll be expected to recognise where other parts of the RocketPhone suite can solve problems and create additional value.
Our approach is simple:
Seed. Prove value. Grow.
How We Approach Mid-Market
We’re not interested in building a £5m pipeline that looks impressive in Salesforce but never closes.
We want quality pipeline that moves quickly.
Mid-Market should have velocity.
Find a genuine problem. Get to the right people. Qualify it properly. Establish commercial value. Create momentum. Close.
Then grow the account.
We’re deliberately building our Mid-Market motion around a seed-and-grow model rather than trying to turn every initial conversation into a huge, complex enterprise opportunity.
We’d rather land a good customer quickly and expand from there than spend nine months trying to manufacture a perfect first deal.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full sales cycle across companies with up to 1,000 employees.
- Carry a £400k annual new-business quota with uncapped commission.
- Lead primarily with RocketCell while recognising opportunities across the wider RocketPhone suite.
- Work alongside a dedicated BDR to build and convert a consistent pipeline.
- Self-source opportunities through the phone, relationships, referrals and intelligent account development.
- Work with our GTM function as it operationalises outbound at scale and creates greater coverage across the Mid-Market.
- Run strong discovery conversations that uncover genuine business problems.
- Qualify hard and focus your time on opportunities capable of moving.
- Demonstrate RocketPhone and connect the technology directly to commercial outcomes.
- Navigate multiple stakeholders without unnecessarily complicating the sales cycle.
- Negotiate and close new business.
- Identify expansion opportunities and build relationships that allow us to grow within successful customers.
- Maintain a disciplined and accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What We’re Looking For
We have a strong preference for people who have come through business development.
You’ve experienced what it’s like to create opportunities from nothing. You’ve picked up the phone, broken into accounts, dealt with rejection and built your own pipeline.
Becoming an AE shouldn’t have made you forget how to do that.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Strong B2B business development, SDR or BDR experience.
- At least one year of closing experience, ideally within software, SaaS or technology.
- Experience owning opportunities from discovery through to close.
- Evidence of generating your own pipeline rather than relying entirely on inbound or BDR-generated opportunities.
- A strong understanding of CRM, preferably with hands-on Salesforce experience.
- Confidence speaking with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to qualify hard.
- The ability to build genuine relationships without allowing opportunities to drift.
- A bias towards action and an understanding that sales velocity matters.
You + Your BDR + GTM
You won’t be building pipeline alone.
You’ll have a dedicated BDR aligned to you, and you’ll also be supported by a GTM function focused on operationalising outbound at scale.
That gives you the infrastructure to create serious account coverage without removing your own responsibility for pipeline.
Think of you and your BDR as a small commercial unit.
You’ll decide which accounts matter, share intelligence, develop relationships and create opportunities together. GTM provides the engine and scale behind that activity.

But pipeline remains a shared responsibility.
Prospecting doesn’t stop because your job title says Account Executive.
How We Sell
We believe in conversations.
We don’t want salespeople hiding behind automated cadences, endless emails or social selling.
Pick up the phone. Talk to people.
Ask good, open questions. Listen properly. Understand what’s happening inside their business. Adapt the conversation based on what they tell you.
Build relationships across your market so prospects know who you are before they’re necessarily ready to buy.
But know the difference between building a relationship and allowing an opportunity to stagnate.
We want AEs who can do both: play the long game with the right accounts while moving qualified opportunities through the pipeline with urgency.
The Environment
RocketPhone moves quickly.
We’re investing in Mid-Market, building the team and putting GTM infrastructure around it. You’ll be joining at a point where you can genuinely influence how that commercial engine develops.
There will be structure.
There will also be ambiguity, change and plenty to figure out.
You’ll probably enjoy working here if you’re competitive, commercially minded, curious and comfortable taking ownership.
You’ll be working closely with — and reporting directly to — the founders, so expect visibility, responsibility and quick decisions.
Success is rewarded through career progression and uncapped earning potential.

We deliberately keep things focused.
We don’t want our salespeople spending their lives administering sales technology.
We want them talking to prospects, creating quality pipeline and closing business.
Why RocketPhone?
$10m+ in funding. New offices in Tower 42. Direct access to the founders. A dedicated BDR. A GTM function scaling outbound. Uncapped commission. And a clear mandate to accelerate Mid-Market revenue in 2027.
You’ll have the support and infrastructure to build serious pipeline — while still having the autonomy and accountability to create your own success.
We’re looking for people who want to help build the next stage of RocketPhone, not simply inherit a territory and process opportunities.
Create pipeline. Move it quickly. Close. Seed. Grow. Repeat.
