SMB Account Executive
ryvr.ai | Clerkenwell, London | 5 days a week in the office £30,000 to £40,000 base + uncapped commission
You've done a year on a recruitment desk. Maybe two.
You're good on the phone. You'd just quite like to sell something that can't take a counteroffer.
What You'd Actually Be Doing
For the first two to three months, this is an outbound role. Phone first. Not "phone as part of a blended multi-channel cadence." Phone. You'd be calling recruitment and staffing agencies. Owners, MDs, sales directors. People who still pick up.
You'd be booking meetings and handing them over while you learn the product, the market, and the objections properly. By month three or four, you'd be running the whole thing. Sourcing your own pipeline, running your own demos, running trials, and closing. You'd have an enablement manager alongside you for the parts that need a second pair of hands, and a target of £20k of net new business a month.
Why You Have to Have Been a Recruiter
You'd be selling to people who do the job you did.
When a director starts talking about retainers, spec outs, net fee income, drop outs, CRM hygiene, you don't need any of it explained. More to the point, you know which of those they're telling you about because it's the real problem and which one they've reached for because it sounds better than the real problem.
You can't learn that in onboarding. You either sat on a desk or you didn't. The context can't be trained without lived experience. Everyone at ryvr is from agency recruitment.

The Money
Base of £30,000 to £40,000 depending on where you're coming from.
Commission is uncapped and it's a straight percentage of closed revenue. No gates, no accelerator tiers designed by someone who wanted the model to look generous on a slide and behave differently in a spreadsheet. It sits meaningfully above the median SaaS scheme, and we'll show you the actual numbers at second stage rather than making you take that on faith.
What You Don't Have to Do
There's a GTM manager whose entire job is making sure you're not doing admin.
List building, enrichment, sequencing, CRM hygiene, routing, reporting. Automated or being automated. There's real money going into tooling here and the reason is unromantic: every hour you spend tidying data pays exactly your base salary and nothing else.
You will not be manually updating a CRM at 6pm. That's the deal.
The People
Jamie Bates runs the SMB sales team and you'd report to him directly. You'd be the third person in that team, which means regular coaching on real calls from someone still making them himself, rather than a monthly one to one where someone reads your dashboard back to you.
Five days a week in Clerkenwell is deliberate. Every good recruiter got good by sitting near someone better and absorbing it without noticing. That mechanism broke almost everywhere else. We'd rather keep it.

The Studio Bit
Our sister company runs a podcast and production studio next door.
You'd have access to it. If you want to build a personal brand in the recruitment market, you'd be doing it with a production setup most people pay for, in a building where the people who are good at it are sitting fifteen feet away.
