Appear: Sales Development Representative

Appear is building the infrastructure that helps brands get cited by AI: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini. We're early, we're growing fast, and we need someone who can sell a category that didn't exist two years ago.

Context

Search is shifting. When someone asks ChatGPT which law firm, clinic, or software to use, the brands that get cited win the business, and most companies have no idea whether they're showing up. Appear fixes that. We measure AI visibility, identify the gaps, and build the content infrastructure to close them.

You'll be selling a problem most prospects don't know they have yet, which makes this role genuinely hard, and genuinely interesting.

Tasks

  • Full-cycle new business: from first touch to signed contract. You own the number.
  • Build and work a targeted pipeline across 2–3 verticals where AI visibility ROI is clearest (legal, healthcare, financial services, professional services).
  • Run discovery that surfaces the problem before pitching the product. Prospects rarely know their AI citation rate. You'll show them, then show them what it costs.
  • Lead demos, business case presentations, and commercial negotiations with senior stakeholders up to C-level.
  • Work closely with the founders on positioning, pricing, and deal structure. Your input shapes how we sell.
  • Feed market and objection intelligence directly into product and marketing. No intermediary, no lost signal.
  • Use AI natively: account research, call prep, pipeline management, follow-up drafting. We expect this to be table stakes, not a differentiator.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in an AE role, senior BDR, or full-cycle role in B2B SaaS.
  • Comfortable with commercial conversations. You can discuss pricing, ROI, and contract terms without deferring to sales.
  • Strong at asking the right questions in client meetings, not just presenting.
  • Genuinely curious about AI and how it's changing search. Clients will ask hard questions and you need to hold your own.
  • Organised and proactive: you manage your book of business systematically, not reactively.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish or other European languages are a plus for our client base.

Nice to Have

  • Background in SEO, content marketing, or digital agency work. You'll speak your clients' language immediately.
  • Experience managing accounts across legal, healthcare, financial services, or professional services verticals.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, GoHighLevel, or similar CRM for account tracking and renewal management.
  • You've been an early AE or BDR hire before and understand what it means to build the function as you run it.

Why Join Us?

  • Real category upside. GEO is where SEO was in 2004. You're early enough to matter.
  • Founders in the room. Direct access to the CEO, CRO, CMO, and GTM. No bureaucracy between you and decisions.
  • We're not looking for someone to fill a seat. We're looking for someone who looks at a category that barely exists, sees the opportunity, and wants to be the person who figured out how to sell it.
