Role overview
We’re looking for a hungry, commercially driven Account Executive to help accelerate growth across Techspert’s PAYG customer base.
This is a proactive sales role for someone who enjoys hunting for opportunities, opening conversations and turning customer relationships into revenue. You’ll work across existing PAYG accounts to uncover new users, re-engage dormant customers, identify new project opportunities and increase the frequency with which customers use Techspert.
You’ll own a portfolio of accounts and be expected to create activity rather than wait for it. That means getting on the phone, reaching out through email and LinkedIn, mapping organisations, finding new stakeholders and consistently looking for the next opportunity.
You’ll work closely with Account Managers and our Project Management team, but your primary measure of success will be simple: are you generating more customer activity, more project opportunities and more revenue?
For someone ambitious and commercially minded, this is an opportunity to develop quickly within Techspert’s commercial team and take on increasing ownership as you deliver results.
What you'll be responsible for
- Hunt for new opportunities within existing accounts
- Proactively identify and engage new users and stakeholders across assigned PAYG customer accounts.
- Map customer organisations to uncover teams, functions and individuals who could benefit from Techspert.
- Use phone, email and LinkedIn outreach to create conversations and generate new project opportunities.
- Identify whitespace within accounts and develop strategies for turning it into incremental revenue.
- Build and maintain your own pipeline of opportunities across your account portfolio.
- Consistently look for ways to increase project frequency, account penetration and customer spend.
- Reactivate dormant customers
- Identify inactive users, teams and accounts with potential to generate new business.
- Run targeted outreach to bring dormant customers back to Techspert.
- Understand why activity has dropped and identify opportunities to re-engage customers.
- Use previous customer activity and relationships to create relevant reasons to reconnect.
- Turn re-engagement conversations into live project opportunities.
- Grow customer activity
- Build strong relationships with users and decision-makers across customer organisations.
- Develop an understanding of each customer's business, priorities and research needs.
- Spot triggers and use cases that could create demand for Techspert's services.
- Educate customers on where and how Techspert can support them.
- Stay close to customers and proactively create reasons for them to use Techspert more frequently.
- Convert customer demand into revenue
- Take ownership of incoming and self-generated project opportunities across your accounts.
- Work closely with our Project Management team to develop compelling responses to customer requests.
- Maintain momentum throughout the opportunity lifecycle and ensure customers receive fast, high-quality communication.
- Follow up consistently and commercially to maximise conversion.
- Track opportunities, outcomes and lost business to continually improve your approach.
- Own your commercial performance
- Work towards clear targets for activity, opportunity generation and revenue.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and proactively manage opportunities through to conversion.
- Track your performance and understand the activities that generate the strongest commercial results.
- Take ownership of your number and continually look for new ways to grow your portfolio.
- Share customer insights and opportunities with the wider commercial team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
