About us

GoCardless is a global bank payment company. Over 100,000 businesses, from start-ups to household names, use GoCardless to collect, manage and send bank payments through Direct Debit, real-time payments and open banking. With US$130bn+ processed annually across 30+ countries, we handle recurring and one-off payments without the chasing, stress, or expensive fees. Our end-to-end payment platform also features AI-powered solutions to improve payment success and reduce fraud, alongside connections to over 350 platforms businesses use everyday.

We are headquartered in the UK, with teams and operations spanning North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The role

We are looking to hire an Emerging Account Executive to join our UK&I team. As an Emerging AE you will be responsible for finding and closing new business deals across the UK&I via your own efforts and supported by our marketing, partnerships and Sales Development teams.

You will be engaging with economic buyers within merchant accounts to identify and secure a role for GoCardless as a payment provider. You will liaise with a multitude of stakeholders and departments; from finance and engineering to marketing and procurement. By successfully multi-threading you will build business cases and ultimately secure commercial arrangements.

We’ve built a dynamic, collaborative culture in which we hire and develop smart, driven people that share our desire to do work we can be proud of.

What excites you

  • You’ll love taking a data driven approach to pitching GoCardless as a payment provider to Emerging ($1-$30m) accounts.
  • Closing multi-territory, multi-year deals with fast growing companies.
  • Identifying high-fit accounts within your territory/ book of business.
  • Developing account plans, working with stakeholders in marketing to deliver those plans and building your network within those accounts.
  • Selling the value of our global payments platform and then developing opportunities through negotiation to contract closure.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
