On the road · Based Birmingham / Midlands, traveling UK-wide · £28,000–£32,000 base · £45,000+ OTE
We're in more than 40 UK leisure centers and growing fast. One person covers all of them. We're hiring the second — and we expect that person to end up running the market and scaling up the UK team in the future. You can be based anywhere reasonably central. The job is UK-wide, and you'll be on the road most weeks.
What we do
Hydrohex puts screens next to swimming pools so leisure centers can run fitness classes without an instructor in the water. Pools are short of instructors, timetables have gaps, and off-peak hours sit empty. We fix that. We're in around 250 pools across Europe and growing quickly — Finland, Sweden, Germany, the UK. The UK is our fastest-moving market and the one with the most room left in it. The classes are often even busier than the ones with a live instructor. Members get attached — when we surveyed them, around half said they'd cancel their gym membership if their center dropped us.
What would you do?
Sell trial deals to leisure centers — councils, leisure trusts, private operators. Find them, call them, drive to them, stand at the poolside and show a center manager what it does for their timetable. Then make sure the trial goes well enough to establish a long-term customer base.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
This is business development in the real sense: you'll source most of it yourself. You'll work alongside our head-office sales lead at the start. After that, the market is largely yours to run.
The honest version:
- You'll make a lot of cold calls, and most people will say no.
- You'll drive a great deal, all over the country, with nights away.
- There's no pipeline waiting for you, and nobody chasing your activity.
- We're 10 people. Nothing is polished, and you'll do things that aren't your job.
- This sector decides slowly — Councils and trusts take months, not days.
If that reads as a warning, it's not the role. If it reads as an opportunity, read on.
What you get
- If you execute, fast track to management role in rapidly growing tech company.
- Blue ocean opportunity to sell a category-defining product with no competition on the market yet.
- £28,000–£32,000 base plus uncapped commission on every deal you win — realistic OTE: £45K+.
- All work travel covered.
- Direct access to the CEO. You'll speak to him weekly.
- A real path to running our UK business. Our German market is led by someone who joined straight from face-to-face sales with no industry background, grew into it within a year, and is now buying into the company.
