I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities & Objectives
Reporting to Vice President Sales, EMEA, the Account Executive’s key role is revenue generation through managing existing clients, developing new business, and supporting enterprise sales cycles.
What You’ll Do
- Self-generated expansion pipeline – create a pipeline through structured prospecting within their existing accounts, not rely on inbound opportunities or the Client Success team
- Account penetration and whitespace: mapping business units, geographies, stakeholders, and potential additional Elemica solutions, and maintain clear growth plans for priority accounts
- Multi-threading – proactively develop relationships beyond our existing contacts across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, IT, Finance, and ultimately senior executive stakeholders
- Commercial hunger and pace – create your own momentum, follow through consistently, and demonstrate comfort with being held accountable for pipeline and revenue generation
- Value-based selling – understand assigned client base and operational problems and translate them into financially beneficial commercial outcomes
- Supply-chain learning agility – must have curiosity and the ability to quickly understand how our manufacturing customers buy, make, move, and sell their products
- Forecasting and CRM discipline – strong Salesforce hygiene, clear customer-confirmed next steps, and evidence-based forecasting should be a basic expectation
- Collaborate with Client Success and the Enterprise Account Executives to protect existing revenue while proactively turning customer intelligence and expansion signals into qualified opportunities
- Use AI-enabled tools (e.g., ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) for account research and territory development
- Apply AI tools like CoPilot, Gong/Chorus AI, and Tableau to analyze pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and account potential
- Draft and personalize messaging and proposals with CoPilot to scale client engagement
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with clients by leveraging AI-assisted insights
- Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events
