Job Title: Account Executive, Physical Systems Simulation
Location: Nottingham or Bracknell, United Kingdom
Reports to: Sales Director
Job Overview
The Account Executive will drive revenue growth and build strategic relationships for Cadence’s Physical Systems Simulation solutions within an assigned sales territory. This role combines deep technical fluency in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software with enterprise sales execution, working directly with engineering and R&D leaders across automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing industries to show how simulation tools improve product development and time to market.
Job Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a sales strategy for the CAE market across automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, and electronics.
- Identify and prioritize target customers, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and R&D-driven organizations.
- Build new business and expand partnerships with engineering teams, R&D departments, and decision-makers.

Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, with enterprise clients.
- Apply a consultative sales approach to show how CAE simulation, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and multiphysics software optimize product design and engineering workflows.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Partner with technical sales engineers on product demonstrations and proof-of-concept projects.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Collaborate with technical teams, product managers, and marketing to deliver solutions aligned to customer needs.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecast records in CRM tools.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Track CAE industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to refine sales strategy.
- Share customer feedback with R&D and product management to align offerings with market demand.
- Represent Cadence at industry conferences and technical symposiums (e.g., NAFEMS, ASME, SAE, AIAA).
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise software sales
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated experience selling FEA, CFD, or multiphysics software solutions
- Experience managing complex, technical sales cycles with enterprise customers and engineering teams
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in the engineering software market
- Working professional proficiency in English, sufficient to lead technical sales conversations and negotiations

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Understanding of CAE workflows, product lifecycle management (PLM), and digital twin technologies
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office
- Strong technical acumen — able to translate engineering simulation concepts for a business audience
- Skilled at building relationships with engineers, CTOs, and R&D leaders
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-changing technology landscape
