At Zest Recycle, we're looking for an organised, analytical and commercially minded Account Executive to join our growing team.
This is a varied office-based role that combines account management support and reporting. You'll work in the Account Management Team taking ownership of a number of smaller accounts yourself and be involved in some project work on reporting.
It's a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems in a client facing role and making things happen. You'll have the opportunity to further develop your account management and commercial skills while becoming an important part of the wider team. This role is an ideal transition into Account Management for someone already working in a support or customer service role.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll provide essential support to our Head of Account Management, and you'll also manage a portfolio of smaller accounts, building relationships with customers and ensuring their requirements are looked after.
Your role will include:
- Producing regular customer reports, management information and performance updates
- Managing a portfolio of smaller accounts in a client facing capacity
- Analysing account and waste data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, using Excel to manipulate, analyse and present data, creating reporting that can turn data into clear and meaningful insights
- Investigating account performance and helping identify the reasons behind changes or issues
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information within HubSpot CRM
- Identifying data quality issues and working with colleagues to resolve them
- Supporting the mobilisation of new customers and services
- Working closely with Customer Service, Finance, Sales and Operations to resolve more complex customer queries and problems
- Helping identify opportunities to improve processes and make the Account Management function more efficient and working on projects to improve process as the business grows
- Communicating with customers where appropriate and providing a professional, helpful service

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who is comfortable in a client facing role, naturally analytical, highly organised and enjoys solving problems.
You may already have experience in an Account Executive/Client Support Manager, Account Support, Data Analyst, Customer Service or similar role. Alternatively, you may be early in your career and looking for an opportunity where you can combine your analytical skills with commercial and customer-facing experience. This is ideal for someone who wants to build a career in Account Management; this role will combine all of the learning opportunities necessary to develop in this career path.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse and manipulate data confidently and continue to learn
- Analytical, with strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem solving
- Comfortable with client reporting and presentations
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A confident communicator who can explain information clearly to colleagues and customers
- A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of their work
- Commercially aware and interested in understanding how businesses and customers operate; curious and keen to learn
- IT literate, with strong Microsoft Office skills
- Comfortable working collaboratively with different teams across the business
- Proactive, with a practical "can-do" attitude

What we're looking for in your Excel skills
Excel will be a key part of this role, so we're looking for someone who is genuinely confident using it rather than simply familiar with the software.
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Pivot tables
- Lookups such as XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- IF statements and other common formulas
- Data sorting, filtering and cleaning
- Conditional formatting
- Creating charts and visualising data
- Combining data from different sources
- Building reports and dashboards
More advanced Excel skills would be a bonus and there is the opportunity to learn on the job.
Experience within the waste, recycling or environmental sector is desirable but not essential.
