The Opportunity
You are an experienced commercial Account Executive with a strong track record of winning and retaining business, and you want your next move to give you an established client portfolio rather than asking you to build everything from zero.
You will inherit around £200,000 of income across a genuinely broad cross-class commercial book, covering everything from smaller SME clients through to businesses spending £100,000 to £200,000 in premium. The portfolio includes Professional Indemnity, Fleet, Motor Trade, Commercial Combined and wider commercial risks, giving you plenty of variety and scope to develop relationships further.
About the Role
You will take over an established book following the departure of the previous Account Executive, so there is meaningful income and a client base in place from day one.
Alongside protecting and developing those relationships, you will have a realistic new business target of around £3,000 income per month, or £36,000 annually. The expectation is that you will grow the portfolio steadily through your existing network, referrals and opportunities generated from within the wider business.
There is also genuine upside for stronger performers, with enhanced new business earnings available when you materially outperform target.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
