Commercial Account Executive/Director

Glasgow (Central Belt) | To £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits — flexible for the right candidate

Not every broker wants you to fit into a corporate mould.

This independent brokerage has built a reputation for doing things differently. Small enough that your contribution genuinely matters, yet established enough to offer a high-quality client portfolio, excellent insurer relationships and a consistent flow of quality opportunities.

They're looking for a commercially minded business winner who enjoys winning business, building long-term client relationships and having the freedom to shape their own success.

The brief is intentionally open — this could suit a traditional Account Executive, but the MD is equally open to discussing seniority, structure and remuneration for the right person.

Why this opportunity stands out

Unlike many firms, you'll benefit from two well-established corporate partnerships that generate a regular stream of qualified introductions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • One partnership delivers a consistent pipeline of property and construction opportunities.
  • The other provides access to the sports sector, opening doors to major sporting events, networking opportunities and industry roundtables that few brokers can access — including a live sponsorship relationship with Celtic FC.

These introductions create genuine opportunities to develop lasting client relationships — but there's still plenty of scope to grow your own portfolio and make the role your own.

The support is there

You'll be backed by:

  • An experienced team of Account Handlers
  • Full Acturis support
  • A visible, hands-on MD with an extensive market network
  • A collaborative, high-quality leadership team where decisions are made quickly and success is recognised
  • Working model is hybrid
  • The focus is on allowing you to spend your time where it adds the most value — working with clients and developing business, not managing process.

About you

You'll be an experienced, hands-on commercial insurance professional with a proven track record of winning and retaining profitable business.

You're commercially minded, ambitious, and want to actively win new clients — not step back from the front line to manage a team or an existing book.

Experience across general commercial insurance is essential. A stable career history matters here — frequent job moves won't be a fit for this business.

If you've grown frustrated with the bureaucracy, reporting lines and politics of the larger consolidators — and you're looking for genuine autonomy, visible leadership, and the flexibility to shape a role around what you're good at — this is well worth exploring.
