Commercial Insurance Account Handler
Location: Perth, Scotland
About the company
A newly established commercial insurance business based in Perth. It's built around a team of experienced industry experts. Because the business is new, this is a chance to join early, help shape how things are done and grow with the company as it builds its client base across Scotland.
The role
As a Commercial Insurance Account Handler, you'll manage a portfolio of commercial clients from start to finish. You'll be the main day-to-day contact for your clients, making sure their cover is right for them, placed well, and renewed on time. You'll work closely with senior brokers and account executives and learn from people with deep market knowledge.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business
- Gather client information and prepare market presentations
- Approach insurers, negotiate terms, and compare quotes to get the best outcome for clients
- Produce clear renewal reports, cover summaries and recommendations
- Build strong relationships with clients and insurer partners
- Spot cross-selling opportunities and gaps in cover
- Keep records accurate on the broking system, in line with FCA regulations and internal compliance standards
- Help with claims queries alongside the claims team where needed
- Help develop processes and ways of working as the business grows

About you
Essential:
- Experience in a commercial lines account handling or broking role
- Good knowledge of commercial products such as property, liability, motor fleet, and combined or package policies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well organised, able to manage your own workload and meet renewal deadlines
- Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements
- A proactive, adaptable approach that suits a growing business

Desirable:
- Cert CII qualified, or working towards it
- Experience with broking systems
- Existing relationships with insurers in the Scottish market
