About the role
Lycetts Insurance Brokers, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for an Account Handler to join our Newcastle Upon Tyne office.
In this client-focused role, you'll support a portfolio of commercial clients, delivering exceptional service across renewals, mid-term adjustments, and day-to-day account management. Working closely with clients, insurers, and colleagues, you'll help build trusted relationships, identify solutions that meet clients' needs, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the team. What you'll be doing
- Managing a portfolio of clients within our Commercial Small Business Unit, delivering exceptional service, and building strong, lasting relationships to support retention and growth.
- Supporting clients throughout the policy lifecycle, including renewals, mid-term adjustments, and general enquiries, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Preparing and negotiating quotations and renewal terms, working closely with insurers to secure the most appropriate outcomes for clients.
- Handling policy documentation, invoicing, and credit control activities accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards of compliance and administration.
- Liaising with insurers, underwriters, claims specialists, and colleagues across the wider business to deliver prompt and effective solutions for clients.
- Contributing to the ongoing success of the Commercial Small Business Unit by identifying opportunities, sharing knowledge, and supporting team objectives and operational priorities.

What you'll need to have
- Ability to engage professionally with clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, particularly in relation to client enquiries, documentation, and meeting preparation
- Attention to detail for preparing quotations and compliance-related documentation
What makes you stand out
- Previous insurance experience
- Experience in obtaining quotes and placing business
- Good negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters
