Account Handler – Commercial & Real Estate Insurance

About Aserto

Aserto Limited is a growing commercial insurance brokerage specialising in real estate, construction, and wider commercial risks. Our approach is built around clarity, confidence, and control, providing clients with straightforward advice, responsive service, and insurance solutions shaped around their individual requirements.

We are looking for an experienced and client-focused Account Handler to support our growing portfolio of commercial and real estate clients.

The Role

The Account Handler will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing and administration of a varied client portfolio. You will work closely with Account Executives, clients, insurers, and other insurance partners to arrange new business, manage renewals, process mid-term adjustments, and support clients throughout the policy lifecycle.

This is an important role within a growing brokerage and would suit someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates confidently, and is committed to delivering excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day insurance requirements of commercial and real estate clients.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with clients, insurers, managing agents, and introducers.
  • Prepare and issue renewal invitations, ensuring information is obtained well in advance of renewal.
  • Review existing insurance arrangements, policy schedules, and client information to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or areas requiring clarification.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed presentations for insurers.
  • Obtain and negotiate quotations, terms, and policy amendments with insurers and underwriting partners.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and compliant client correspondence, quotation summaries, and policy documentation.
  • Explain policy terms, conditions, exclusions, excesses, and endorsements clearly to clients.
  • Process new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, cancellations, and policy transfers.
  • Check policy documents and endorsements for accuracy before issuing them to clients.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records, diary systems, and file notes.
  • Support clients with claims notifications and liaise with insurers and claims teams where required.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional protection where appropriate, without compromising the client-first approach.
  • Work closely with Account Executives to ensure renewal and new-business deadlines are met.
  • Assist with premium collection, payment queries, and premium finance arrangements.
  • Ensure all work complies with FCA requirements, Consumer Duty principles, internal procedures, and insurer agreements.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of Aserto’s systems, processes, and client experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
