Account Handler/Executive – Specialist High Risk Trades
Salary - up to £40,000 plus annual bonus
Surrey/ Hybrid
We are working with a specialist insurance business with over 35 years’ experience providing tailored risk solutions across hazardous and environmental sectors.
The team supports clients operating across fuels, chemicals, wastewater, environmental contracting, and fuel distribution, delivering bespoke insurance programmes covering complex and evolving risks.
This is a great opportunity to join a highly technical environment where you will gain exposure to specialist markets and develop your expertise in complex commercial insurance. NO experience in this client field is needed as full training is provided.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join a collaborative and fast-paced team. You will support Account Executives while also managing your own portfolio of clients, ensuring a high level of service across the full policy lifecycle. The role offers exposure to complex risks across the fuel, chemical, hazardous haulage, and environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop your own portfolio of clients, around 10 renewals per month with clients paying anywhere from £2,000 – £250,000 in GWP
- Support Account Executives with renewals, MTAs, and new business
- Negotiate terms with insurers and prepare renewal documentation
- Produce clear and accurate client proposals
- Maintain accurate records using Acturis
- Handle client queries and insurer liaison
- Policies placed include Commercial Combined & Fleet followed by Cyber, D&O, BI
About You
- Experience as a Commercial Account Handler within commercial insurance (broker or insurer side)
- Strong client service and relationship management skills
- Confident working in a target-driven/growth of book environment as part of your role will require you to convert a handful of new business enquiries (qualified leads provided)
- Must have worked on Commercial Combined policies
- Acturis experience essential
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation ability
