Performance Manager

Location: Farringdon, London (Hybrid)

Salary: £44-50k

Help shape the future of charity marketing

More than 50 charities trust FARRER to help them reach more people, raise more money, and deliver greater impact. We are one of only a handful of Google Ad Grant Certified Professionals in the UK, working with charities across health, environment, education, arts, international development, and more.

We’re looking for a Paid Media Account Manager to join our growing Charity Programme. You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of charity relationships, lead client strategy, and ensure each organization gets the right service from our wider delivery team.

The role begins with a clear focus: transition an established portfolio smoothly, keep clients happy, and make sure their Google Ad Grant activity is delivering. As you learn the portfolio and our way of working, the role will develop into broader strategic leadership across the Charity Programme.

The role from day one

This is primarily a client-management and strategic-oversight role.

Google Ad Grants will make up most of the portfolio initially, but you will not be expected to build and optimize every account alone. Much of the campaign delivery is supported by other members of the team. Your job is to understand each charity’s goals, set the direction, coordinate delivery, and maintain a strong relationship.

Your first three months will center on learning how the program operates, taking over the existing relationships, and identifying what is working, what needs improving, and where our processes or resourcing need to evolve.

What you’ll be doing

Client relationships and strategy

  • Own a portfolio of charity client relationships and act as their main day-to-day contact.
  • Lead client meetings, reporting conversations, and regular strategic reviews.
  • Understand each charity’s objectives, priorities, internal stakeholders, and upcoming campaigns.
  • Translate performance data into clear recommendations focused on donations, volunteers, campaign supporters, service users, or other relevant outcomes.
  • Manage expectations, keep communication moving, and stay close to changes within client teams.
  • Become a trusted adviser who can challenge constructively and recommend where FARRER can have the greatest impact.

Paid media oversight

  • Set the strategy for Google Ad Grant accounts and oversee campaign creation, optimization, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with the wider team responsible for much of the hands-on account delivery, giving clear direction and checking the quality of the work.
  • Keep our Google Ad Grant service best in class by staying current with platform changes, conversion strategy, account structure, and analytics requirements.
  • Support paid Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok activity where it forms part of a client’s program.
  • Use GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio to understand performance and communicate it clearly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Operational ownership

  • Help run a scalable, clearly defined service for smaller charities, delivering meaningful value without over-servicing accounts.
  • Review how clients are segmented and serviced so that time and attention reflect their needs, potential, and level of activity.
  • Identify gaps in processes, handovers, reporting, or resource and help improve the way the Charity Programme operates.
  • Work with the team to ensure agreed actions are delivered accurately and on time across a sizeable portfolio.

Account development and agency profile

  • Spot relevant opportunities within existing client relationships, such as an upcoming appeal or a gap across Meta, paid search, SEO, or another service.
  • Open warm, consultative conversations about additional support where there is a clear opportunity to create more impact.
  • Help capture strong client work as case studies, testimonials, and useful LinkedIn content, clearly explaining the strategy and outcome.

How the role will evolve

Once the portfolio has been transitioned successfully, we expect the role to broaden beyond day-to-day account management. The exact structure will be shaped with the successful candidate as the Charity Programme grows.

  • Taking greater ownership of the overall strategy across FARRER’s charity client portfolio, ensuring we understand each organization’s scale, ambitions, and wider marketing needs.
  • Developing integrated recommendations across Google Ad Grants, paid Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, SEO, and other relevant services.
  • Moving further away from routine day-to-day account management towards strategic leadership, quality control, and program development.
  • Helping design the team structure, processes, and resource needed to support a growing portfolio, including the potential addition and management of an Account Executive or other delivery support.
  • Creating a clearer framework for prioritizing relationships and identifying where additional strategic support can create genuine client value.
  • Playing a growing role in pitches and tenders for larger charities, bringing strong strategic thinking and credible sector expertise.
  • Contributing to the development of new charity-focused services and helping strengthen FARRER’s reputation as a leading specialist agency in the sector.

About you

You’ll likely have:

  • At least two years’ experience managing Google Ads, with the judgement to set direction rather than simply report on activity.
  • Strong client-management and communication skills, including confidence leading meetings and explaining complex performance clearly.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset, with a consistent focus on client outcomes and growth opportunities.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate delivery across multiple client relationships.
  • Experience using GA4 and interpreting campaign and conversion data.
  • An interest in improving processes, service design, and the way a team operates as it grows.
  • The confidence to identify and discuss additional opportunities with existing clients in a helpful, low-pressure way.

  • Working with charities or non-profit organizations.
