What do Account Managers do at WPP Production?
Our Account Managers (AM) are super-organised and adept multi-taskers. Accountable for end-to-end project delivery and responsible for delivering projects on time, on specification, and on budget. Our AMs possess good project and client management skills and best-practice methodology and is the key point person for projects and relaying timing, scope, budget, resource, and change information to the wider project and production teams.
You are well organised with a passion for production, marketing, and advertising and a desire to grow and develop.
Key areas of responsibility
Communication
- The key day-to-day contact for clients across projects they're working on
- Understanding of clients' needs to deliver high satisfaction levels
- Ensure awareness of timelines and deliverables on projects
- Responsible for managing the client relationship with a focus on Client delivery
- Act as the primary client contact for delivery, structure regular status updates and communications with clients, define scope and approach, set and manage expectations and deliverables, and if required, escalate issues as required to SAM/SCM
- Ensure a clear understanding of the production brief, deliverables, and timeline for each project

Collaboration
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with internal agency teams and key external partners to ensure quality and adherence to production guidelines for key deliverables
Process
- Manage small-to-medium projects independently, from initiation through to completion
- Work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced agency environment
- Manage client objectives, budget, expectations, deliverables, and timelines and communicate changes/direction to team members
- Keep projects on track through clear task lists, timing schedules, risk register, trackers, status, and contact reports
- Participate actively and can knowledgeably articulate status internally and during client interactions
- Identify potential project risks and if needed, escalate to SAM/SCM
- Liaise with clients/agencies/suppliers to obtain schedules, briefs, assets, technical specifications
- Ensure the highest quality is always delivered to clients
Financials
- Own project budget and tracking of all ongoing costs throughout project lifecycle, reconcile estimates to actuals on all projects, and resolution of budget discrepancies between disciplines, vendors, and clients
- Manage POs, financial reporting, tracking, billing against all project budgets
Requirements
- An understanding of marketing and production implementation processes across key channels such as digital, video, content, social, etc.
- Understanding of the production and the creative development process, content production, technology, quality assurance testing, and marketing methodologies
- Experience working with creative teams — collaborating closely with Art Directors, Designers, and Copywriters, understanding creative concepting/development stages, managing feedback rounds, and balancing creative ambition with production feasibility, timelines, and budget
- Experience within luxury accounts/brands — comfortable navigating the elevated standards, brand guidelines, sign-off processes, and attention to detail luxury clients expect, along with sensitivity around brand tone, positioning, and exclusivity
- Experience with retail clients — understanding of retail marketing cycles (seasonal campaigns, store openings, product launches), multi-market/multi-territory rollouts, and the fast turnarounds retail calendars often demand
- Familiarity with moving image production — understanding of film/video production processes, from pre-production (briefs, scripts, shoot planning) through to shoot days, edit, post-production, and final delivery/versioning across formats
- Ability to manage small projects with varying components, demonstrating ability to deliver on time and on budget
- Experience of client relationships
- A professional, calm, approachable demeanour
- Strong written and verbal communication
- An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring flawless execution and delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, wireframing/workflow tools, online project management/collaboration/ticketing tools e.g. JIRA, Smartsheet, Trello, Miro, etc
