Role Description
The Account Manager role at Universal Vans is a full-time, on-site position based in Keynsham. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction from initial inquiry through delivery and after-sales support.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Responding to customer enquiries
- Preparing quotes
- Coordinating vehicle availability
- Maintaining accurate records in company systems

The Account Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services, and collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to support smooth transactions.
This position also involves:
- Handling basic contract administration
- Following up on leads
- Contributing to continuous improvement in customer experience and internal processes
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, including handling enquiries, maintaining regular contact, and providing responsive, solution-focused support.
- Experience in sales or account management, ideally within automotive, commercial vehicles, or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain options clearly, manage expectations, and build trust with diverse customers.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including managing multiple accounts, tracking follow-ups, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Comfort with using office software, CRM or database systems, and basic numerical skills for quotes, pricing, and simple contract details.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with colleagues in sales, operations, and finance to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Keynsham, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and take initiative to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Prior experience in commercial vehicle sales, leasing, or related sectors is beneficial but not required; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
