We are working exclusively with our client to find an Account Manager.

About:

Our client is a fast-growing data, software and analytics business helping organisations operating in complex global markets make better commercial decisions.

Founded by industry specialists, the company has developed from a specialist research provider into a trusted intelligence platform used by hundreds of organisations worldwide.

Following significant year-on-year growth and substantial institutional investment, the business is continuing to expand internationally and invest in its post-sales organisation. It is now hiring an Account Manager to protect recurring revenue, lead commercial relationships and uncover opportunities for long-term account growth.

This is a commercially focused post-sales position. Customer Success owns activation and adoption, while the Account Manager takes overall commercial ownership of each account, leading renewals, building relationships across the organisation and developing expansion opportunities.

  • Average account value of approximately £55k, alongside several six-figure strategic customers.
  • Expansion opportunities across additional products, increased usage, subscription upgrades and wider organisational adoption.
  • Work with a new tiered pricing structure designed to create a clearer and more scalable expansion motion.
  • Help shape account planning, renewal and expansion processes as the post-sales function continues to scale.

Role:

  • Own a portfolio of approximately 25 business and enterprise customers representing around £1.5m in recurring revenue.
  • Act as the commercial owner of each account, taking responsibility for retention, renewals and long-term revenue growth.
  • Build trusted relationships across senior decision-makers, commercial sponsors, operational stakeholders and day-to-day platform users.
  • Map customer organisations proactively, identifying relevant teams, stakeholders, priorities and potential areas for wider adoption.
  • Run consultative discovery with existing customers to understand their challenges, strategic priorities and changing requirements.
  • Develop structured account plans covering stakeholder engagement, renewal readiness, commercial risk and expansion potential.
  • Lead renewal conversations and ensure risks are identified and addressed well ahead of contract deadlines.
  • Identify and progress cross-sell opportunities, increased usage and movement into higher subscription tiers.
  • Demonstrate the commercial value customers receive from data, forecasting and market intelligence.
  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure activation and adoption support the wider retention and growth strategy.
  • Coordinate with Product, Sales and leadership to resolve customer challenges and deliver a consistently high-quality experience.
  • Maintain accurate account, renewal and expansion forecasts within the CRM.
  • Take genuine ownership when a customer has a suboptimal experience, coordinating the appropriate internal response and following through to resolution.
  • Help strengthen the company’s account-management playbook as its pricing model and post-sales organisation continue to evolve.

Requirements:

  • Approximately three or more years’ experience in account management, customer success or another commercially focused post-sales role.
  • Experience owning renewals, retention and expansion within an existing B2B customer portfolio.
  • A strong record of retaining and growing complex, high-value accounts.
  • Confident managing business and enterprise customers, including accounts worth six figures annually.
  • Strong consultative discovery skills and genuine curiosity about customers’ businesses, challenges and priorities.
  • Able to map complex accounts and develop relationships beyond a single champion or day-to-day user.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify credible cross-sell, usage-growth and tier-upgrade opportunities.
  • Comfortable being measured against recurring-revenue outcomes such as GRR, NRR, renewals and expansion.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the credibility to represent the business in front of its largest customers.
  • Highly accountable, proactive and willing to take full ownership of the customer experience.
  • Comfortable working in a scaling technology business where processes and commercial models are still evolving.
  • Able to operate flexibly rather than relying on a rigid account-management playbook.
  • Experience within energy, utilities, financial markets, data or market intelligence would be valuable but is not essential.
  • Experience in consulting or another commercially focused role serving similar stakeholders could also translate well.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC or another structured commercial methodology would be advantageous.
