Description
Base Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Expected commission: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum on top of salary
Location: Haggerston, Hackney, with 3 days in the office

The Future Laboratory works with a large client base of world-leading brands and agencies, all of whom retain us as their trusted intelligence partner. Through an ongoing partnership, they get access to our intelligence platform, our team of analysts and strategists, and a range of tailored deliverables throughout the year. Many have been with us for five years or more, and we are proud of these long-standing relationships.

As Account Manager, you will look after a portfolio of these partners, making sure each one gets maximum value from their time with The Future Laboratory. You will be their day-to-day point of contact, understanding their priorities, connecting them with the right experts and content, and keeping them engaged across the year. The ultimate goal is to retain these clients and, where the opportunity is right, grow those accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, own, and deliver a detailed, quantifiable account plan for your portfolio, with retention at its core
- Manage and negotiate annual renewals with existing clients, working well ahead of contract end dates
- Adhere to the client service plan and all associated KPIs
- Act as the day-to-day point of contact for your clients, building multi-level relationships across their organisations
- Onboard and train clients on our intelligence platform, ensuring they engage with the content most relevant to their sector and role
- Make sure every client gets maximum value from their partnership, connecting them with the right analysts, briefings, presentations, and wider team throughout the year
- Generate meetings at a senior level to strengthen relationships and support retention
- Identify opportunities to grow partnerships where the fit is right, and flag wider project opportunities to the business development team
- Attend The Future Laboratory events and relevant industry conferences, representing the business and building your network
- Develop strong internal relationships with peers, analysts, strategists, and management
- Create renewal proposals and contract documents
- Ensure all client data and pipeline are managed accurately in our CRM (HubSpot)
- Provide accurate weekly forecasting and reporting on activity, renewals pipeline, and business closed
- Be an ambassador for The Future Laboratory at all times

- Excellent sales, commercial, and customer success skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong strategic planning skills
- Ability to develop up-sell business from an existing base
- Target-oriented and a proven track record of achievement
- Ability to communicate at an executive level with gravitas
- Ability to work well in a team environment and work autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal skills and client relationship management ability
- Attention to detail with a high standard of computer literacy particularly in MS Office
