Overview
Our client is seeking an Account Manager to manage a portfolio of dealer accounts, with a strong focus on sales growth, retention, and account development. The role involves developing and executing sales strategies, using data and insight to prioritize activity, understand buying behavior, and convert commercial opportunities into measurable results. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across relationship management, growth, and development functions while taking ownership of day-to-day commercial conversations and portfolio performance.
Salesforce is a core tool within the role, with responsibility for maintaining accurate CRM data and using it to target the right accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies across a portfolio of large, mid-tier, and developing dealer accounts.
- Focus activity on higher-value and higher-potential accounts.
- Tailor engagement approaches according to customer segment and commercial opportunity.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers on priority accounts while leading day-to-day commercial conversations.
- Collaborate with Growth Specialists and Development Managers to improve performance across new, reactivated, and non-buying accounts.
- Use data and insight to identify barriers to purchasing and opportunities for growth.
- Manage a structured program of dealer engagement, including regular calls and quarterly Microsoft Teams meetings with priority accounts.
- Support face-to-face dealer meetings where required.
- Plan, record, and follow up all dealer interactions within the CRM system.
- Review portfolio performance, including purchasing activity, pipeline opportunities, defleet readiness, and claims trends.
- Prioritize sales, retention, and account development while ensuring claims are managed effectively.
- Lead commercial conversations designed to influence dealer behavior and improve performance.
- Structure working time to maximize outbound sales and growth activity.
- Balance account engagement, follow-ups, meetings, and opportunity management through effective prioritization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce records, including contacts, decision-makers, activities, and opportunities.
- Use CRM insight and automated triggers to target relevant dealers and contacts at the appropriate time.
- Deliver against agreed KPIs for sales growth, portfolio engagement, dealer retention, reactivation, productivity, and quality.
- Use performance data and dashboards to monitor results and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in coaching, feedback, and ongoing performance development.
- Manage claims-related conversations within the assigned portfolio where required.
- Work with the claims team throughout the claims lifecycle to support accurate and consistent outcomes.
- Operate within agreed processes, governance, and escalation routes.

Requirements
- A proactive, commercially focused approach to account growth and retention.
- Ability to manage a varied dealer portfolio and prioritize activity effectively.
- Confidence in leading commercial conversations and influencing customer behavior.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to use data and insight to guide sales activity and decision-making.
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM system as a core sales tool.
- Ability to maintain accurate CRM records and use performance data to support account management.
- Willingness to receive coaching and feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
