Ophthalmology Account Manager – London

About the Role
Are you an experienced medical device sales professional looking to join a global leader in ophthalmology?
We are looking for a motivated and commercially driven Ophthalmology Account Manager to manage and grow sales across our market-leading ophthalmic diagnostic, surgical and digital portfolio throughout London and the surrounding region.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative technology that helps improve patient outcomes while partnering with leading NHS and private healthcare providers. You will build strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities and deliver integrated clinical solutions that create value for both customers and the business.
Working closely with Clinical Application Specialists, Regional Sales Managers and cross-functional teams, you will manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and product demonstrations through to implementation and ongoing account development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement strategic territory and account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Promote the full ophthalmic diagnostic, surgical and digital product portfolio across hospitals, clinics and theatres.
- Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations and evaluations in partnership with Clinical Application Specialists.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, tenders and business presentations.
- Build trusted relationships with ophthalmologists, surgeons, procurement teams, biomedical engineers and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate installations, product implementation and customer training alongside specialist teams.
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales opportunities and forecasts using Salesforce CRM.
- Forecast capital equipment and consumable sales to support business planning.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Service and Operations teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Represent the organisation professionally at exhibitions, workshops and customer events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify future opportunities.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys building long-term customer partnerships and has a passion for delivering innovative healthcare solutions.
You will ideally have:
- Proven sales experience within medical devices, healthcare or life sciences.
- A successful track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to explain technical and clinical information to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Strong commercial awareness and account management skills.
- Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Excellent organisational, planning and forecasting skills.
- A proactive, resilient and customer-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.

Desirable
- Ophthalmology or ophthalmic medical device sales experience.
- Experience selling capital medical equipment.
- Knowledge of NHS procurement and tender processes.
- Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare or a related discipline.

Location
This is a field-based position covering London and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel to our Head Office in Cambourne.
