Rail Account Manager

Sheffield

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + bonus + Car

Are you an experienced Account Manager with a background in rail, engineering, manufacturing or another technical industry, and looking for a role where you can build strong customer relationships and have real autonomy?

This is not a cold-start sales role. You’ll walk straight into an existing portfolio of customers, meaning you can get to work building relationships, taking orders, introducing new innovations and earning bonus from day one.

The role is primarily account management, with the opportunity to develop new business where you see potential. You’ll manage your own diary and have complete flexibility to work from home, the office or out visiting customers.

A rail background would be highly desirable, but it’s not essential. We’d also be keen to hear from people with experience in similar technical, engineering or industrial environments who are confident managing customers and developing commercial relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
