The Role
A leading provider fintech for Higher Education is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with key university partners.
This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse teams including marketing, finance, data, and customer support to deliver outstanding service and innovative solutions. You'll be instrumental in driving value for both clients and the business, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring partner satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Account Growth
- Manage 10-15 Universities
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and innovation opportunities within existing accounts.
- Achieve and exceed growth targets and KPIs.
- Attend Ad-Hoc Events
- Produce accurate forecasts for account performance and revenue projections.
- Leverage strong partner relationships to support wider business development initiatives.

Client Success & Retention
- Act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive account growth plans.
- Monitor satisfaction levels and address issues proactively to ensure strong retention.
- Stay current on sector trends and client needs to deliver relevant insights.
- Collaborate with partners to develop case studies and demonstrate impact.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams and working alongside a Senior Development Manager to ensure seamless onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Serve as the customer advocate, sharing feedback to inform product and marketing strategies.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing on client success, sales, and account management best practices.
- Work closely with finance and analytics teams to improve reporting and performance insights.

Experience
- Account management from the SaaS environment
- Selling into Universities, Colleges, or Multi-Academy Trusts
Skills & Attributes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior decision-makers.
- Results-Oriented: Focused on delivering year-over-year performance improvement.
- Project Management: Skilled in creating and executing structured account plans.
- Relationship Builder: Develops deep, trusted partnerships.
- Collaborative: Acts as an internal advocate for clients across departments.
Location
Ideally based within the West Midlands-to-London corridor, covering the wider Southern territory.
Salary & Benefits
- £35,000–£40,000 basic salary
- 20% bonus: 10% individual performance and 10% team performance
- Business expenses fully covered
