About Strix

Strix is the global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of kettle safety controls as well as other complementary water temperature management components, appliances and water filtration products.

Purpose

The role of the ACCOUNT & BUSINESS DEVELOPER MANAGER is to drive sales growth and develop new business opportunities in the United Kingdom market for Strix Group for LAICA, Aqua Optima and private labels. The role combines account management of existing retail customers with new business development across grocery retailers (non-food retail), specialist retailers (homewares, SDA, kitchenware, electrical), D.I.Y. and home improvement chains, department stores and B2B channels.

Key Accountabilities

Key Account Management

  • Manage and develop relationships with assigned UK retail accounts (non-food, specialist, department store and DIY channels)
  • Negotiate annual trading terms, promotions, listings and joint business plans
  • Deliver sales, margin and profitability targets
  • Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance, ensuring optimal stock levels and forecasting accuracy
  • Implement promotional plans and in-store activations in collaboration with retail partners

Business Development

  • Identify and approach new retail customers within grocery, specialist, department stores and DIY channels
  • Build a pipeline of new business opportunities and convert them into long-term partnerships
  • Expand distribution for Laica brand across the UK market
  • Support the development of private label opportunities where relevant

Market and Category Development

  • Analyse market trends, competitors and category dynamics in water filtration and SDA
  • Identify growth opportunities in new channels and product segments
  • Provide insights to support pricing, positioning and product strategies

Commercial Planning and Execution

  • Support the National Sales Manager UK to define the annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Develop and execute account plans aligned with company objectives
  • Monitor KPIs including revenue growth, margin, distribution and promotional effectiveness
  • Ensure effective execution of commercial agreements across the customer base

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain and Customer Service teams
  • Ensure successful product launches and promotional campaigns
  • Support the development of category storytelling and brand positioning at retail level
  • Support the National Sales Manager UK to define the pricing policy and deploy it on the market
  • Working with National Sales Manager and online sales account manager avoid internal channel pricing competition.

Person Specification and Competencies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in:
    • Sales / Account Management / Business Development
    • Preferably within FMCG, small domestic appliances, kitchenware or domestic water filtration
    • Knowledge of retail buying contacts
    • Experience working with UK retailers (grocery, DIY or specialist) is mandatory
    • Exposure to both account management and new business development is desirable

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong commercial mindset with a results-driven approach
  • Good negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret sales and market data
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial and hands-on attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of a multi-channel environment
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
