Account Manager
£32,000–£38,000 + Performance Bonus
Are you experienced in Account Management, Client Services, Customer Success or Service Delivery within the IT sector and looking for a role where you can have more ownership, visibility and genuine influence?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a small, boutique Managed Service Provider with an established and loyal SME client base across the East Midlands.
This is a close-knit, supportive business that has built its reputation around providing clients with high-quality, personal IT support and trusted advice. Rather than simply supplying technology or responding to tickets, the team works closely with its customers, helping them make the right decisions around their IT and providing ongoing support and direction.
The business has significant scope for further growth and is now creating its first dedicated Account Manager position to strengthen those client relationships and support the next stage of its development.
The Opportunity
This isn’t a high-volume cold-calling or aggressive sales role.
You’ll inherit relationships with an established client base and focus on making sure customers feel valued, supported and properly looked after.
As the first dedicated Account Manager within the business, you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape how Account Management develops.
Initially, you’ll spend time understanding the business, its customers and services while supporting the day-to-day commercial process. As your knowledge and relationships develop, you’ll take increasing ownership of your own client portfolio, lead regular review meetings and identify where the business can provide additional support.
There is a commercial element to the position, but the philosophy is straightforward: understand the client first, provide genuine value and allow commercial growth to follow from strong relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

For someone who wants to join a smaller business and grow with it, there is considerable scope to develop the position over time.

- Takes ownership and follows things through rather than waiting for somebody else to pick them up.
- Is organised and capable of managing multiple clients, actions and priorities.
- Has good commercial awareness and can recognise opportunities to provide additional value.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes.
- Wants stability and the opportunity to build a long-term career as the business grows.

You’ll have a clear route into full ownership of a client portfolio, genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape a newly created role rather than simply stepping into an established corporate structure.
Most importantly, you’ll be joining a successful boutique MSP with a strong client base and considerable potential for growth - giving you the opportunity to develop your own career as the business develops around you.
