Key Account Manager - Sales
Wilmslow, Cheshire | £26,000 basic + commission | OTE £36,000
Are you confident on the phone, naturally organised and good at building relationships? We're looking for a Key Account Manager to join a busy and growing sales team in Wilmslow. This is a great opportunity for someone with B2B sales, account management or recruitment experience who enjoys being proactive, spotting opportunities and picking up the phone to make things happen. You'll work closely alongside a Business Development Manager, taking responsibility for a portfolio of agency accounts and helping to grow those relationships. You'll be someone who is comfortable working independently, but also enjoys being part of a close-knit sales team.
What will you be doing?
Your role will be focused on developing existing agency relationships and creating new opportunities within those accounts. You'll be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of existing agency accounts and building strong relationships with consultants and key contacts.
- Working closely with the Business Development Manager to maximise opportunities within each account.
- Making proactive outbound calls to recruitment agencies and consultants.
- Booking meetings and generating opportunities for the Business Development Manager.
- Following up with consultants and encouraging contractor referrals.
- Identifying opportunities to increase business from existing clients.
- Developing relationships with recruitment agencies to increase awareness and referrals.
- Acting as a key point of contact for the Business Development Manager when they are out of the office.
- Supporting contractors and agencies throughout the relationship to ensure a high level of service.
- Keeping CRM records accurate and up to date.
- Using account and sales data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and client requirements.
- Occasionally attending client or site meetings when required.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident and proactive, with the personality to build genuine relationships while still being comfortable asking for the business. You'll ideally have:
- Previous B2B sales, account management or recruitment experience.
- Confidence making outbound calls and speaking to people at all levels.
- Experience of developing and maintaining client relationships.
- A proactive approach to identifying new opportunities.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your workload.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A friendly, personable approach and the ability to build trust quickly.
- Good attention to detail and confidence using a CRM.
- The resilience to work in a busy, target-driven environment.
- A genuine desire to develop and progress within a sales career.

The role
This is a predominantly office-based position in Wilmslow, with occasional site visits where required. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced sales environment, wants genuine responsibility for their own accounts and is looking for a role where they can develop their commercial skills and progress their career.
