Account Manager / Business Development Manager IT Managed Services

Stockport, Greater Manchester (Hybrid Working)
£45,000 - £60,000 Basic Salary + Uncapped Commission + Benefits

Are you an experienced IT sales professional looking for a role that combines account management with new business development?

Value Added Recruitment is working with an established and highly respected IT Managed Services Provider that continues to invest heavily in growth, technology, and people. With a strong reputation across the private sector and a diverse portfolio of mid-market and enterprise clients, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an Account Manager / Business Development Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys developing existing customer relationships whilst also identifying and winning new business opportunities across a broad portfolio of IT solutions.

The Opportunity

You'll inherit and develop an existing portfolio of customers whilst proactively generating new opportunities across the company's solutions portfolio, including:

  • Managed IT Services
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Cyber Security
  • Connectivity & Networking
  • Microsoft Technologies
  • Collaboration & Unified Communications

Working closely with marketing, technical, and pre-sales teams, you'll benefit from inbound leads, customer referrals, and vendor relationships whilst also building your own pipeline through proactive business development activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customer accounts
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the technology portfolio
  • Conduct customer reviews and develop long-term account plans
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Work closely with pre-sales and technical teams to create compelling customer solutions
  • Develop relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners
  • Achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, events, and industry functions

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience selling Managed Services, IT Solutions, or Technology Services
  • A successful track record in either Account Management, Business Development, or a hybrid role
  • Experience within an MSP, IT Reseller, VAR, or Technology Services environment
  • Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to engage with IT and business decision-makers
  • Experience managing opportunities from initial engagement through to close
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and genuine desire to succeed

Experience selling solutions such as Cloud, Cyber Security, Networking, Connectivity, Microsoft, or UCaaS would be highly advantageous. Typical market verticals include Retail, Insurance, Professional Services, and Leisure.
