BT Business is expanding its Private Sector verticals with a new Media, Technology & Communications team, focused on delivering value through complex solutions and customer integrations.
We’re looking for an experienced sales leader with a proven track record of exceeding new business sales KPIs and building strong customer relationships across international markets.
You’ll drive UK growth across solutions including Network, Inbound and Contact Centres, lead complex opportunities and deals, and work effectively with internal sales specialists, subject matter experts and thought leaders.
What you’ll be doing
- Retain, develop and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, delivering revenue, new sales growth and customer satisfaction targets.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with customers at all levels, understanding their business, priorities and decision-making processes.
- Own the overall customer relationship on behalf of BT, working closely with internal teams to deliver the right products and services.
- Protect and grow the customer base by identifying opportunities, managing competition and maximising the value of BT and EE network capabilities.
- Create and own clear account and win plans for renewals, retention and growth opportunities.
- Lead customer meetings and commercial discussions, including contractual activity and negotiations.
- Work closely with Acquisition, Business Development and specialist teams to maximise growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales activity and account information in the CRM.
- Develop profitable, long-term customer relationships and manage escalations effectively.
- Understand each customer’s business needs and transformation roadmap, using this insight to identify new opportunities.
- Develop account plans that reflect the competitive landscape and position BT effectively.
- Use knowledge of BT products, services and managed solutions to create commercially strong customer propositions.
- Develop and maintain a strong customer contact strategy across key stakeholders.
- Take ownership of the new sales elements of the account P&L, including effective use of budgets and resources to win new business.
- Maintain high standards of sales performance and ensure Sale Compass metrics are achieved.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Proven experience in account management, sales or customer relationship management, with a strong track record of delivering targets.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior customer stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience growing existing accounts and winning new business.
- Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into effective, value-led solutions.
- Strong planning, organisation and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and work effectively with internal teams.
