About the Role
The Corporate Subscription team in Wiley’s Applied Research Intelligence Group is seeking a strategic sales professional responsible for helping the world’s most research-intensive companies build AI-ready knowledge infrastructure using peer-reviewed scientific content.
This is a role focused on:
- Managing key corporate accounts across multiple industries
- Developing new business opportunities
- Sales of complex, consultative solutions
You’ll need a value-driven, consultative approach to understand customer needs, craft tailored proposals, and close opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Strategic Account Management
- Develop and implement territory sales plans to meet/exceed revenue targets
- Uncover customer needs; create/maintain a network of stakeholder relationships across multiple personas
- Build comprehensive account strategies for cross-sell/upsell opportunities
- Prospect for new business opportunities alongside managing existing accounts
- Identify key stakeholder segments and implement strategies for account growth and expansion
- Create data-driven strategies to identify/pursue new opportunities
2. Sales Process & Negotiation
- Influence customers with a value-driven approach throughout the sales cycle
- Execute data-driven negotiation processes and gain consensus
- Negotiate complex deals using solutions across the product portfolio
- Maintain pipeline forecasting in CRM systems and analyze data to guarantee agreement success

3. Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
- Maintain regular engagement to understand customer goals and objectives
- Apply consultative value-selling to propose solutions
- Partner with Customer Success to ensure measurable customer outcomes
- Deliver exceptional service, exceeding client expectations
4. Market & Customer Intelligence
- Conduct in-depth customer research across sources to identify needs
- Stay current on market trends, industry events, and competitor approaches
- Leverage research to tailor outreach and meeting plans
- Represent Wiley at targeted conferences and customer events
- Track and respond to new trends in AI and corporate innovation
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with teams (Marketing, Product, Customer Success) to deliver bespoke solutions
- Present high-stakes value stories aligned with customer needs and budgets
- Maintain consistent communication with legal to accelerate agreements
- Demonstrate high attention to detail; contribute insights and ideas to team members
- Exhibit leadership in sales and marketing discussions
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
- 5+ years selling/complex account management, preferably in publishing or research-heavy industries
- Proven track record selling to corporate clients, particularly in research/innovation
- Experience handling AI-driven research alliances in corporate settings
- Experience setting revenue targets and exceeding accountability metrics
