I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who They Are Looking For
This isn't a role for someone who has simply watched a lot of sport. You’ll need solid agency experience and a genuine understanding of the sports and events world.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- 3+ years' experience within sports and/or motorsport.
- A good understanding of motorsport - particularly F1 or Formula E.
- Strong client servicing and account management experience.
- Experience managing events and guest programmes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects without losing your head.
- Good experience managing sizeable budgets, ideally £100k+.
- The confidence to deal with senior client stakeholders and high-profile environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently while still being a proper team player.
- A calm head when things inevitably get a little hectic onsite.

Experience working with rights holders, motorsport teams or global brand partners would be a big plus, as would additional languages.
Travel
This role involves regular international travel, including weekends during race and event periods. It's a genuinely global account, so you'll need to be comfortable with the reality of working in live events - long days, travel, and the occasional controlled chaos that comes with delivering major sporting experiences. In return, you'll get to work on some seriously exciting events and with some world-class brands.
