Overview
Founded by petrochemical specialists over 35 years ago, OAMPS has built a strong reputation for providing expert insurance and risk management solutions to hazardous and environmental industries. Working across sectors including fuels, chemicals, wastewater, and environmental contracting, OAMPS has long-standing partnerships with industry bodies such as UKIFDA (and formerly the FPS), supporting fuel distributors with tailored insurance solutions aligned to their specific risks.
Today, OAMPS supports clients across the full lifecycle of their operations - from manufacture and import/export through to storage, haulage, installation, and servicing - delivering comprehensive protection that evolves with their business needs. From single-vehicle operators to large, complex organisations, OAMPS arranges both conventional and bespoke programmes, covering everything from assets and liabilities to cyber, balance sheet, and environmental impairment risks.

We’re now looking for a knowledgeable and client-focused Account Manager to join the team. This is a varied and fast-paced role, where you’ll support Account Executives while also taking ownership of your own portfolio of clients, ensuring they are exceptionally well looked after at every stage.

The role can be office-based or hybrid, with only occasional time required in the office. As part of a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll gain exposure to complex risks across the fuel, hazardous haulage, chemical, and environmental markets - broadening your knowledge while making a meaningful impact for your clients.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Working in partnership with our Account Executives and managing your own portfolio to meet the demands and needs of our clients, as well as securing new clients.
- Negotiating terms with insurers, building renewal documentation, processing mid-term adjustments and crafting compelling proposals for new and existing clients.
- Ensure client details are recorded accurately and entered onto Acturis quickly; this allows us to keep all client records accurate for audit purposes.
- Assist your clients with queries, confirm cover with the insurers, process policies and chase outstanding documentation when required.
- Manage all account queries and credit control matters, highlighting any concerns to your line manager promptly.

About You
- Interpersonal skills and a dedication to customer excellence is essential, as this is an awareness of the importance of maximising opportunities.
- Preferably Cert CII qualified.
- Having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLA’s.
- Preferable previous experience of Acturis is desirable.
- Worked in teams servicing both clients and colleagues; with excellent customer service skills and the ability to negotiate.
- Risk aware with strong planning and analytical skills along with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
