Role Description

The Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Rotherham, responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of business customers across South Yorkshire, Humber, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. Day-to-day activities include building strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their technology and connectivity needs, and proposing suitable BT solutions and services. The role involves proactive account management, regular client meetings, and follow-up to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. The Account Manager will identify new business opportunities, prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate with technical and support teams to deliver solutions. The role also includes maintaining accurate records in CRM systems, meeting sales and service targets, and staying informed about BT products and market developments.

  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills, with experience managing a portfolio of business customers.
  • Sales and negotiation skills, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and closing deals in a B2B environment.
  • Solid understanding of communications and connectivity solutions, with the ability to learn BT products and explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills, including responding to client issues, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to individuals and small groups.
  • Organizational and time management skills, including use of CRM tools, planning client visits, and prioritizing workload to meet performance targets.
  • Previous experience in telecoms, IT solutions, or technology sales is highly beneficial; experience in another B2B sector will also be considered.
  • Education at A-level or equivalent is preferred; a degree in business, marketing, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
