Account Manager — KTL Netherlands

Purpose

Own and grow client relationships across KTL’s logistics services (warehousing, fulfillment, and freight forwarding), acting as the day-to-day commercial point of contact — including lead qualification and pricing — who protects service levels while identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts.

Reports to

[Commercial/Operations Director]

Location

Netherlands (on-site/hybrid, client visits as needed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Qualify inbound and prospective leads — assess volume, scope, service fit (storage/fulfillment/freight), and commercial viability before committing sales or ops resources
  • Own a portfolio of client accounts end-to-end — relationship, commercial terms, and satisfaction
  • Build and own pricing for accounts — quoting new business, repricing existing accounts as volume or scope changes, and setting rates for new service lines
  • Act as escalation point for service issues, coordinating with warehouse/fulfillment and freight teams to resolve SLA breaches or chargebacks
  • Track account performance against contracted KPIs (on-time dispatch, accuracy, chargeback rate) and report proactively rather than reactively
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and price them appropriately to protect margin while staying competitive
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with clients, presenting volume trends, cost, and service data
  • Feed client volume forecasts back into ops/planning so warehouse and freight capacity — and pricing — scale ahead of demand
  • Support onboarding of new accounts, ensuring pricing is agreed and operationally viable before go-live

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

  • 3+ years account management experience in logistics, 3PL, or freight forwarding
  • Lead qualification experience — able to quickly judge whether a prospect’s volume and requirements are a good fit for KTL’s capacity and capabilities
  • Pricing/quoting experience — comfortable building rate cards, calculating margin, and negotiating commercial terms directly with clients
  • Comfortable reading operational data (SLA reports, chargeback logs, volume trends) and translating it into client-facing narrative and pricing decisions
  • Dutch + English fluency; additional languages a plus given multi-country freight scope
  • Experience managing accounts through a growth/scaling phase is a strong plus
  • Freight forwarding exposure (ocean/TEU, multi-country routing) valuable if the role will eventually cover 4PL-style accounts
