About the Role
The Internal Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to win new business within the industry.
The role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, increasing sales, improving customer retention, and delivering an excellent customer experience from initial enquiry through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts, maintaining regular contact to build strong relationships and maximise sales opportunities.
- Carry out proactive account management calls and quarterly account reviews.
- Identify and re-engage down-trading and dormant accounts to recover lost business.
- Monitor customer purchasing patterns and product trends to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Develop new business opportunities within existing industries and customer sectors.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally from initial contact through to order completion.
- Prepare and manage quotation requests, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion.
- Oversee customer projects from enquiry through to completion, providing regular updates and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Sales Directors and Sales & Office Manager to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure orders, quotations, and projects are processed efficiently.
- Liaise closely with the marketing team to develop customer-focused marketing campaigns and promotional activity.
- Request and coordinate marketing materials, product literature, brochures, email campaigns, and promotional content tailored to your customer accounts.
- Identify opportunities for targeted marketing campaigns based on customer feedback, buying trends, new product launches, and account management activity.
- Ensure CRM systems and customer records are maintained accurately with detailed account notes and follow-up actions.
- Resolve customer issues promptly, providing a high level of customer service at all times.
- Maintain a proactive approach to customer retention and continuous account growth.
