About the Role
You'll sit at the heart of our Customer function and work with our most important customers. You’ll make sure they understand the value Light brings them and drive renewals and upsell.
Your customers are Financial Controllers, Finance Directors and CFOs at fast-growing multinational SaaS and tech companies. Senior, technical, time-poor. They expect you to keep up, to tell them straight when something won't work, and to make their team the hero.
We’re a young company, and we’re just starting to renew contracts. In parallel, we’re deploying Agentic Customer Engineers who help our customers make the most of Light. While they re-design customer workflows and deploy agents, you’ll own the stakeholders, the adoption, and the commercial in this motion. There's no set playbook yet. You'll write it, and we'll help.

Key Responsibilities
- Own existing customer relationships and drive adoption, renewal and upsell
- Ensure that Controllers, Finance Directors, and CFOs see the value Light brings
- Make finance the hero - help them do their best work and get recognition for it
- Partner two-in-a-box with Agentic Customer Engineers to help customers make the most of Light and our suite of AI agents
- Spot an engagement going sideways before the customer does, and fix it
- Feed what you learn back into the playbook the team is building
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years owning customers in account management, customer success, consulting, or a commercial delivery role - with outcomes you can point to
- You hold your own with a CFO. You can talk multi-entity finance, ROI, and adoption without flinching, and you know when to push back
- You've driven adoption and expansion, not just kept accounts warm and sent QBRs
- You bring structure to messy, ambiguous engagements - clear plans, sharp prioritisation, and the judgement to know which details matter
- You've owned accounts and driven outcomes
- You use AI tools daily and have specific opinions on where they help and where they don't
- Fluent English; additional European languages a plus

- Bonus #2: Experience in a forward-deployed, solutions-led, or professional-services model focused on renewals and upsell, ideally in the context of AI
You'll probably struggle here if
- You need a big support team, a mature playbook, and a manager on call to operate - this is a founding role with limited scaffolding
- You can't give a concrete example of telling a senior customer "no" and making it stick
- You love the status quo - this job is about change more than maintenance
- You've used ChatGPT once and weren't impressed - we go all in on AI at Light
