We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Relationship Manager to join our Strategic Partnerships team within RLAM's Client Group. This is a highly visible role focused on managing and developing relationships with some of RLAM's most significant institutional strategic partners, driving client retention, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and supporting business growth.

Working closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships, you will act as a trusted partner to clients, providing exceptional relationship management, leading strategic discussions with senior stakeholders, and coordinating complex change and transition activity. You will also play a key role in supporting new product launches through seed capital negotiations and ensuring clients receive a consistently high standard of service.

Success in this role requires outstanding relationship-building skills, strong technical and market knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently while taking ownership of a designated client portfolio. You will be motivated by delivering excellent client outcomes and helping to build enduring partnerships that support long-term business success.

About The Role

  • Manage and develop relationships with RLAM’s institutional Strategic Partnership clients, acting as a trusted adviser and ensuring exceptional client service delivery.
  • Create and execute tailored relationship plans, maintaining regular engagement with clients and consultants to anticipate needs and deliver effective investment solutions.
  • Lead client retention activities and identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling and securing new mandates in collaboration with Product and Investment teams.
  • Represent RLAM at trustee, committee and portfolio review meetings, delivering insightful updates and building strong senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new mandates and implementation of mandate changes, coordinating internal teams and ensuring transitions are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timelines.
  • Act as the voice of the client internally, providing market insight and feedback that helps shape RLAM’s products, services and overall client proposition.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across Front Office, Operations, Compliance, Legal and other specialist teams to deliver a seamless client experience while maintaining regulatory compliance, effective risk management and accurate record keeping.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
