Account Manager

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)

Salary: £35,000 + Commission (OTE £65,000+)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Yolk Recruitment is supporting an ambitious and rapidly growing technology consultancy in their search for an experienced Account Manager to join their Cardiff-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded relationship builder who enjoys working with technology-focused clients. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of key accounts, developing trusted partnerships, identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring customers receive exceptional service throughout their journey.

Working with clients across both the public and private sectors, you'll play a key role in driving account growth while collaborating closely with technical and delivery teams to deliver outstanding outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of key client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including Director and C-suite.
  • Understanding clients' strategic objectives and technology challenges to identify opportunities for additional services and projects.
  • Creating strategic account plans that maximise customer value and drive long-term growth.
  • Producing accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports and account plans for senior leadership.
  • Working closely with delivery and operations teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Leading regular account reviews and positioning the business as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, contact mapping and opportunity tracking.
  • Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Sharing customer feedback and market insights to support future service development and commercial strategy.

What we're looking for

  • 3-5 years' experience in Account Management, Customer Success or Business Development within a software, IT or technology services environment.
  • A strong understanding of software development, digital transformation, CMS platforms or technology consulting. Experience with .NET or Umbraco would be advantageous, although not essential.
  • A proven track record of growing existing accounts and achieving commercial targets.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior decision-makers and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience producing sales forecasts and pipeline reporting.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Previous experience working with public sector organisations would be beneficial.
