Relationship Management | FMCG | Account Growth | Product Development | Personal Care

Great Customer Relationships. New Opportunities. Products Brought to Life.

Soapworks is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of soap bars and personal care products, partnering with brands and retailers to create and manufacture products at scale.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Account Manager to help us grow.

This is not a traditional field sales role.

Instead, you’ll build strong B2B customer relationships, uncover new opportunities, grow existing accounts and work closely with teams across the business to turn customer requirements into commercially successful products.

If you understand the pace of FMCG or manufacturing, enjoy getting close to customers and are equally comfortable talking about sales, products, costs and delivery, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

You’ll manage and develop a portfolio of B2B customers while actively identifying opportunities for new revenue.

That means understanding what customers need, spotting where Soapworks can add value and then coordinating internally to make it happen.

You’ll:

  • Drive growth and new business across multiple customer accounts
  • Generate new opportunities and help convert customer enquiries
  • Build and develop relationships with existing customers, helping them realise their full potential with Soapworks
  • Research customer requirements and support contract negotiations
  • Understand Soapworks’ products, processes and capabilities to recommend the right solutions
  • Coordinate new product development through critical path management
  • Work across internal teams to ensure customer briefs are delivered effectively
  • Complete and manage product costings
  • Support forecasting and commercial planning
  • Spot risks early and escalate issues where needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

More Than Account Management

A customer may come to you with an opportunity or product requirement, but your involvement doesn’t stop when the conversation is won.

You’ll help coordinate the development of new products, bringing together the right internal teams and keeping the critical path moving so products are available on time and in full.

That makes this a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys the relationship side of sales but also wants to understand how products are developed, costed, manufactured and delivered.

About You

You’ll already have proven experience in B2B sales, business development or account management, with evidence of developing new opportunities while growing and retaining customer relationships.

Experience within personal care, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience developing new business and managing customer accounts
  • Forecasting and commercial planning experience
  • A good understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and commercial processes
  • Strong customer relationship skills, with the ability to be persuasive but diplomatic when issues arise
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, face to face and virtually
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a flair for presenting information clearly and engagingly
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to look beyond current practices to find new opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and stay calm under pressure when demands shift
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams capability
