About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join BT Business as an Account Manager focused on public sector customers.
The Corporate Inside Sales team are a successful, diverse and sociable group, working together to drive new business and maintain customer loyalty. We are seeking a Account Manager as a direct report to the Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting our public sector customers across the regions base and delivering a relative sales target. This role drives the delivery of profit and revenue growth across our established base whilst maintaining high NPS customer satisfaction scores each year.

You'll be joining a tightly knit team in our Birmingham, with a supportive and collaborative culture. Our Birmingham office hosts Account Managers, Sales Specialists and Business Development Managers - so you'll be sitting right next to the people who will help you do well in your role. This team is all about building each other up to succeed. You'll also be brought up to speed on your sales skills with our bespoke training programme, and long term there are opportunities for career growth into roles across the sales space at BT.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and grow a portfolio of public sector accounts, driving revenue through upsell and cross-sell
- Drive revenue and profit growth through proactive opportunity identification and careful account planning
- Maintain accurate forecasting across revenue and margin using Salesforce and internal tools
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across local government, education and NHS organisations
- Take a consultative approach to selling, understanding customer needs and aligning solutions
- Develop and deliver account plans and pipeline strategies
- Work collaboratively across BT to bring together the right expertise and solutions
Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience working in a sales or account management role, ideally within a B2B environment
- Exposure to public sector customers (e.g. councils, NHS, education or procurement frameworks)
- Identify and close opportunities to develop new business within existing client accounts
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience within technology, telecoms, or IT solutions sales
- Understanding of public sector procurement processes or frameworks
- Experience of consultative or solution-based selling
- Capable communication, stakeholder management skills and able to build C-Level relationships
- A proactive, self-starting approach with a desire to learn and develop
