Account Manager - Environmental Services/ Recycling & Waste Management

As an Account Manager in the Environmental Services/ Recycling & Waste Management sector, you'll play a key role in managing client relationships and driving sales growth. This role involves building strong partnerships with clients and ensuring their needs are met, while identifying new business opportunities to support the company's success.

Description

  • Manage and develop relationships across a portfolio of key customer accounts.
  • Act as the primary contact for all commercial and account-related matters.
  • Lead contract renewals, pricing discussions, and service reviews.
  • Identify and convert opportunities for account growth and expansion.
  • Resolve customer issues by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with operational and senior decision-makers.
  • Deliver regular account reviews, forecasts, and performance updates.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support account strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, events, and industry forums.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts, and customer records.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies and values.

Profile

A successful Account Manager should have:

  • Proven experience as a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager, ideally within retail equipment, FMCG, or another B2B solutions environment.
  • Experience managing multi-site or national-level customer accounts, including contract renewals and commercial discussions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, comfortable engaging with customer stakeholders at various levels.
  • Good commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and convert account growth opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and written reporting skills.
  • Self-motivated and organised, able to manage account responsibilities with a degree of autonomy.
  • Full, valid UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly nationally, including occasional overnight stays.
