Job Title: Account Manager - RTM Off Trade & SPAR

Function: Commercial - Off Trade

Location:

Field Based – UK. The role is home based but it is expected that at least 50% of your time will be in trade, visiting customers to maintain and unlock opportunities. Customers are situated across the UK so flexibility and willingness to travel across the country is essential.

What the opportunity looks like:

Reporting to the Business Unit Controller and part of a dynamic and highly successful team, you will be responsible for driving Distribution, Visibility and Activation (DVA) standards across existing Wholesale and convenience customers. You will agree visibility and activation with the Buyers and implement those agreements in line with agreed standards by segment within budget. You will also be responsible for helping to establish lasting partnerships, as well as getting out in the market to establish product quality and understand the customer’s vision. You will have a clear understanding within Off Trade route to market (RTM) and develop strong working relationships.

This role will require you to be both an account manager and brand manager with the ability to manage sales relationships at a senior level and to be an educator, personifying the brands and bringing them to life.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of creating and developing excellent customer relationships, someone who has worked closely with both external and internal key contacts to drive distribution and make a positive difference. Whilst both Drinks Industry knowledge and P&L level commercial experience are preferable, what we really are looking for is someone driven to succeed. You must possess a “Can Do” attitude and demonstrate that you are keen to embrace an exciting new challenge working with our fantastic brands and key customers.

  • Manage a call file of up to 7 customers.
  • Journey plan minimum 4 weeks in advance, calling every 4/8/12 weeks.
  • Preparation and presentation for approval by BUC of commercial proposal detailing involvement, investment promotional plan and anticipated return.
  • P&L experience preferable (training will be provided) to build Customer JBP’s, Promotional Calendars, Budgets and manage Forecasts.
  • Evaluation of promotional activity/proof of return on investment.
  • Negotiation and implementation of Channel Plans across Wholesalers including day to day management and problem solving.
  • Creating and developing links with future partners, maintaining current relationships and maximising engagement.
  • Drive distribution on Whyte & Mackay brands across all Wholesale Customers and Retail Clubs.

  • Experience of managing large scale accounts, previous input toward building Joint Business Plans (JBP) and pricing builds.
  • Previous experience in an Account Manager role within the Off-Trade RTM would be preferable.
  • You will have a valid and full UK driving licence based on travel required as part of the role.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook to an intermediate level.
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of RTM Off Trade and Convenience is preferable.
  • Drinks Industry knowledge preferable.
  • Proficient in the use of social media.
