Account Manager – Automotive Software (SaaS)
Midlands · Hybrid, field-based with UK travel · £35,000–£40,000 base + car + uncapped OTE (~£55k)
About the job
Good account managers keep customers happy. The best ones spot where fresh revenue is sitting and go and get it. That is the person this role is built for.
An established automotive software business, one of the platforms dealers actually run their operations on, is hiring an Account Manager for its mid-market customer base. Fresh off an acquisition, investing hard in the product, rolling out new AI tools and expanding fast in the US. You would own a portfolio of dealer accounts across the UK: keep them, grow them, and bring in extra revenue through upsell, cross-sell and renewals.
This is not a new-business role and there are no cold-call targets. It is not passive account-minding either. You will know the product well enough to spot the gaps, ask the right questions, and turn a good relationship into a bigger one.
What you'll do
- Own a portfolio of mid-market dealer accounts: retention, growth and renewals.
- Spot upsell and cross-sell opportunities across a broad, capable platform, including new AI modules, and act on them.
- Run business reviews, get customers using more of what they already pay for, and introduce what they do not yet have.
- Be out on the road with customers across the UK, and back in the Midlands office on the quieter weeks.
- Feed what you hear in the field back to product and the commercial team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll bring
- Account management, customer success or account-based sales experience in SaaS or software. That is the essential.
- Commercial instinct: you understand that how you run an account drives revenue, and you actively look for it.
- Confidence managing mid-market relationships and talking to senior stakeholders.
- Happy on the road, and Midlands-based so you can get into the office when the diary is quiet.
- Automotive software or DMS experience is a bonus, not a must. If you have done SaaS account management well in another sector, they will teach you the product.
The package
- £35,000 to £40,000 base, depending on experience.
- Uncapped OTE around £55k. That is roughly £20k of realistic on-target commission on top of base, with no ceiling above it.
- Company car and mileage covered.
- A brand-new Midlands office, serious product investment, and a business scaling internationally after a recent acquisition.
- Two seats open: one permanent and one 12-month fixed-term contract. Same role, same package.
Why it's worth a look
Automotive software is moving fast, and this business is one of the names setting the pace: recently acquired, investing hard, and growing quickly in the US. Get in now and you grow with it. A real portfolio to build on, uncapped earnings, and the room to turn account management into something genuinely commercial.
