Account Manager – Healthcare Communications

Full-time | Remote / Hybrid

We’re looking for an Account Manager to join a senior-led communications consultancy working across healthcare, science and the corporate world.

This is a broad role for someone who enjoys variety, likes taking ownership and wants the opportunity to grow with the business.

You might already be an experienced Account Manager looking for more autonomy, or you might be earlier in your career and ready to take the next step. We’re much more interested in your ability, attitude and potential than a particular number of years on your CV.

The role

You’ll work closely with senior leadership across a varied portfolio of clients, helping to keep accounts, projects and ideas moving.

No two days are likely to look quite the same. You might be developing a communications plan, drafting a LinkedIn post, researching a new issue, preparing for a client meeting, coordinating a project, working on a media opportunity or helping turn an initial idea into something we can take to a client.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in:

  • day-to-day client and account management
  • communications strategy and planning
  • content development and copywriting
  • thought leadership
  • media relations and PR
  • social and digital content
  • research and insight
  • project management
  • new business and proposals
  • identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships

You won’t simply be handed a list of tasks. We want someone who will increasingly take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape the work.

Who we're looking for

Above all, we’re looking for someone who is bright, curious, proactive and great to work with.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You’ll ideally be:

  • brilliantly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • a strong writer with an excellent eye for detail
  • confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders
  • proactive – someone who spots what needs doing rather than always waiting to be asked
  • interested in healthcare, science, business and the wider world
  • comfortable moving between strategic thinking and practical delivery
  • calm and dependable when things get busy
  • commercially minded and interested in how client relationships grow
  • willing to ask questions, challenge thinking and bring your own perspective

Previous healthcare communications experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential if you have strong communications skills and a genuine interest in the sector.

A role you can grow

There is significant scope to make this role your own.

As you develop, we’d like you to take greater ownership of clients and help us build a bigger portfolio of work.

And if there is an area of health that particularly interests you, we’d actively encourage you to develop it.

That might be women’s health, diagnostics, clinical research, biotech, public health, digital health or an area we haven't yet explored. We want to give you the space to build your knowledge, develop relationships and potentially create a specialism of your own.

For the right person, this is an opportunity not just to progress within an existing role, but to help shape what the role – and the business around it – becomes.

How we work

We’re a small team, which means you’ll work closely with experienced senior communications professionals and have exposure to clients and strategic work from the outset.

We work hard and move quickly, but we also believe people do their best work when they have autonomy, trust and room to think.

The role is full-time and hybrid.

Interested?

If you're looking for a role with great clients, meaningful work, plenty of variety and genuine room to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send us your CV together with a short note telling us a little about you, what interests you about the role and, if you have one, the area of healthcare or science you’d most like the opportunity to explore.

One thing I particularly like is asking applicants to tell you which area of health they’d like to explore. It reinforces the proposition and their answers will also tell you quite a lot about their curiosity and ambition.

Qualifications

  • Strong account management and client relationship skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and service delivery.
  • Project coordination skills, including tracking timelines, managing multiple priorities, and monitoring progress against objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, presentation abilities, and professional correspondence.
  • Analytical and organizational skills for handling data, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Comfort with remote tools and technology, including CRM or relationship management systems, project management platforms, and standard office software.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
