Role overview

As an Account Manager, you will manage end-to-end client engagement: discovery, proposal, negotiation, onboarding, retention, and expansion. You will ensure clients derive real value from Proxify’s engineers, build lasting partnerships, and grow your account portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with senior decision-makers; manage a portfolio of SMB clients to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Engage regularly with C-level and senior technical stakeholders to shape their tech-resourcing and project strategies.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities as well as negotiating contracts to grow accounts.
  • Coordinate with internal talent, engineering, and delivery teams to align resources, timelines, and outcomes with client expectations.
  • Monitor account health, report on performance, advise clients on improvements, and manage risks.
  • Match developers to client needs using your technical understanding, working with Client Engineering to ensure quality and fit.

Must-have

  • 3-5 years managing enterprise or large B2B client accounts; experience in tech services, software, staffing, or outsourcing (UK market preferred).
  • Proven track record of closing deals, growing revenue, and retaining long-term clients.
  • Credible technical fluency and understanding gained via hands-on roles (developer, project/product/engineering lead) or working closely with technical teams.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills; comfortable discussing pricing, SLAs, scope, and delivery models with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 1-2 business trips per month as needed.
  • Advanced English.
  • Self-starter attitude; ownership of outcomes, persistence, and ability to manage multiple projects/clients.
  • Experience with CRM, forecasting, and account planning tools.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in staffing, developer sourcing, or tech recruitment.
  • Comfortable in distributed team or remote-work environments.
  • Knowledge of current tech trends (cloud, AI, frameworks, remote work).
  • Familiarity with enterprise contracting, procurement, or legal norms.
  • Wider professional network across the UK.
