Strategic Account Manager
Location: Oldbury
Salary: Competitive, from £45,000 depending on experience. There is flexibility for the right candidate, so if you feel this opportunity could be a good fit, we’d be keen to have a conversation.

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a successful manufacturing business in Oldbury to recruit a Strategic Account Manager into their growing commercial team.
About the Role
This is a newly created position for someone who is driven, commercially minded and confident taking accountability for a diverse portfolio of customers.
- Manage relationships across around 250 clients, ranging from straightforward day-to-day queries around timelines and deliveries through to more complex conversations around products, technical requirements and tailored solutions.
- Understand customer businesses, challenges and future requirements.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, increase customer value and grow the accounts you manage, while also developing new opportunities with businesses across the wider sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of approximately 250 customers.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with existing clients through regular face-to-face meetings.
- Become a trusted point of contact and a genuine partner to your customers.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop additional business.
- Manage everything from straightforward customer queries through to complex product and solution discussions.
- Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Quality, Project Management and Finance.
- Take accountability for customer issues, ensuring they are followed through to resolution.
- Prepare quotations, RFQs and other commercial documentation.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products, services and manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to the wider commercial strategy and continued growth of the business.

What We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who is already experienced in Account Management, Client Management or Commercial Sales within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or another technical/industrial environment is essential. Experience within paint, coatings, plastics, injection moulding, surface finishing or a related sector would be particularly advantageous.
- Commercially aware, with a genuine interest in growing customer relationships.
- Driven and ambitious, with the confidence to take ownership.
- Comfortable managing a large and diverse customer portfolio.
- A strong communicator who can build relationships at different levels.
- Proactive and solutions-focused rather than simply reactive.
- Highly organised, accountable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Confident working collaboratively across different departments.
- Comfortable discussing products, solutions and customer requirements.
- Able to travel to customer sites when required, with a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
